A losing battle ...

ever since i moved into the new house ther is one thing that has stood out - the no. of cockroaches in this place!! it amazes me hw the previous tenants ever managed to lead a peaceful life here..for us (kiki, masu, praveen nd me) life @ home mostly revolves around exterminating cockroaches..infact we hav even coined a new term - patafied (pata = cockroach in malayalam) which means devoured/destroyed by cockroaches..nd ther isnt a single atom in this house that hasnt been patafied :((
initially we had decided we wudnt do nething bout the roaches..bt the irritation was jst too much to bare..i open my laptop - find a roach running across the keypad..open my draw nd find a huge family of roaches staring up lazily @ the intruder..go into the kitchen nd voila..u guessed it COCKROACHES!! even if all the roaches in this world were to die i think ther is enuf in our house to restore their population bk in no time!! so we finally decided on a weekend tht we wud destroy the hellish nightmare that is the pata..so armed with 2 baygon sprays each and a cloth over our mouth nd nose, praveen nd i "fired" at every roach that happend to show its ugly face..it wasnt a pretty sight..lets just say no human blood was spilt that day and the color of our kitchen floor had changed..
happy with a job well done we thot it was humans 1 roaches 0 .. bt the roaches had an altogether different idea..they knew that ther is strength in numbers..so they went into an infinite mating spree and within a week of the first battle they were back to their original strength..
with our defences down (coz we were gloating over our triumph) the roaches launched a surprise attack and evr since we hav emptied clip after clip of our ammo but to no avail..they hav enuf roaches (critical mass) to sustain their population..nd we know we are fighting a losing battle..
in other peaceful news job is goin good..i seem to hav settled into a comfortable routine - be it at work (code, break, code, lunch, code, tt, code...) or at home (mostly involves chatting nd browing/downloading stuff, tv, movies)..nt visiting iiit as often as i wud like to though...also i bought a car - black santro xing..nd gifted it to my parents..they badly needed a gud car..
today a spam/flame war was started by pranav (!!) .. its started out as a simple innocent mail to the entire batch wishing every1 a happy dussera..he had no idea it wud end up being a thread with 70 odd repliest (nd counting) nd with shiben unleashing his creativity in flaming jithu, su, dharm nd sunc!! this seems to b the most activity happening in my iiit mailbox for quite some time..nd m enjoying every bit of it!! nvr thot i wud say this but - guys keep spamming :)
